Chess Course

This course will familiarize students with chess and they will be able to learn strategies. This class will benefit students so they will be able to play with friends and even show off their skills! đŸ˜‰

Course Description:

  • Beginner Course: This course will begin with students learning how the pieces move and familiarizing themselves with the rules for chess. Then the course will move on to basic endgames and opening theory
  • Advanced Course: This course will be for students with some knowledge of chess (i.e. how to move the pieces) and will start with a quick refresher on topics discussed in the beginner course. Then the course will move into tactics and strategy, while also discussing certain important openings

Course Choices:

  • Beginner Course: Requires a little to no understanding of chess and good motivation. It is open for all ages
  • Advanced Course: Requires the student to have a decent amount of knowledge about chess. It is best if they know the topics that will be discussed in the beginner course. It is open for all ages

Timings:

  • Beginner Course: 12 – 12:50 PM every Saturday 
  • Advanced Course: 1- 1:50 PM every Saturday 

Materials:

  • For this course, it is necessary to have a laptop and access to Google Docs
  • It would be good if the student has a chessboard, but it’s not necessary

More about the course:

  • Each course is 6 weeks long
  • Classes will be held on Webex and links will be sent through WhatsApp and Email once registered
